Alastair has been in practice since 1978. He has a general Chancery practice including company, insolvency, property, professional negligence, trusts, and contract and commercial disputes and in particular economic torts, beneficial co-ownership and estate agents' commission disputes.
Important cases include the leading House of Lords cases of Lloyds Bank v Rosset (land registration/beneficial co-ownership) and Lonhro v Fayed (economic torts), the Court of Appeal case of McDonald v Horn (pre-emptive costs order in favour of pension fund beneficiaries) and A-G v Parry and MGN (breach of confidence).
He has advised and appeared in litigation resulting from the BCCI and Barings collapses and in the Prince Jefri v Manoukian dispute.
He is recommended in Chambers & Partners Directory for commercial Chancery.
